FREE Visit to Nuvein Dia de Los Muertos

Please Note: I am hosting this event for both Gay Foodies and Pleasure Palate. This event is FREE to attend but I will still be taking attendance. When you arrive at the venue, call/text me at:[masked]

In prior years I have hosted Day of the Dead celebrations in the Hollywood Forever cemetery and Self Help Graphics in Boye Heights. I want to try out a new venue this year and read that El Monte, which has a large Mexican population holds a decent sized celebration of the day of the Dead.

Bring about $20 in CA$H in case you decide to buy some trinkets and snacks offered at the event.

I will visit for about an hour so, before heading out to my next event in Riverside. You are welcome to stay longer if you want.

The Nuvein Foundation for Literature and the Arts works to inspire and connect communities to the arts, encourage emerging local artists, provide resources for arts education students, and offers opportunities to showcase the arts all across the San Gabriel Valley.

Centered in the community of El Monte, the Nuvein Foundation works towards celebrating the art, culture, and traditions of the diverse communities that make up the San Gabriel Valley.

One way Nuvein celebrates the Mexican cultural traditions is by offering up an annual Dia de los Muertos event in Downtown El Monte at the Valley Mall.

The event features traditional Mexican arts and crafts vendors and merchants in an outdoor mercado, a Rincon de Poesia/Poet’s Corner where writers and poets share tales and poems about life and death and remembrance, a curated art gallery, as well as a live performance stage featuring Aztec Danza, Mariachi music, Ballet Folklorico, and other performance art.
