Family-Style Taiwanese Dinner and Desserts at MonJa in Rowland Heights

Family-Style Dining: Dining for this event has been designated as Family-Style. The food bill will be split evenly between all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their own beverages. Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance on attending, you have to be amenable to what the group/AO will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. Why this policy? The goal for family-style dining is to allow for the entire group to sample as wide a variety of dishes as possible. If one or more attendees choose to order on their own, that limits the group's choices, which defeats the purpose of what Family-Style Dining is all about. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you.
Last month Abby hosted this event, but I was unable to attend it since I was out of town. I've heard good things about the food there and am curious to try it out. So, I've set aside some time this Saturday to make a run out to MonJa for their Taiwanese savory dishes and perhaps, their Taiwanese shaved ice for dessert, if it's not too cold.

We will order a good assortment of dishes to share. I anticipate that the cost per person would be around $20 to $25, depending on how much food we order, any beverages, plus tax and gratuity. Please be sure to bring at least $40 in CASH (small bills preferred) to settle your portion of the bill.

MonJa is located in a shopping mall with ample of free parking. We will meet inside the lobby of the restaurant at 5:45pm. I will email all attendees my cell phone number the morning of the event, so that you can call or text me should you arrive before I do, or are running late, or are lost.
focus on various aspects of city life, ranging from architectural to cultural, historical to quirky and/or a combination of any of the above to help give you a better appreciation of town you live in.
