About… … The Yule Parlor Parade

For 56 years Christmas has begun for the Peninsula with the Yule Parlor Parade. Each year we have been privileged to show beautiful homes decorated for Christmas. Neighborhood Church’s Yule Parlor parade has been a large part of the success that has allowed the Women’s Fellowship to give so generously to South Bay charities.

…The Women’s Fellowship

Women’s Fellowship is a friendly and creative group who enjoy each other’s company while working together to help others. The group meets regularly to plan and implement fund-raising events, but also to socialize, learn, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.

Members of The Neighborhood Church Women’s Fellowship work throughout the year raising funds to help support charities and philanthropic organizations that are fulfilling the needs of the community in the South Bay area. This is done by organizing the efforts of the entire church membership and friends of the church. The major fund-raiser has been the Yule Parlor Parade which has raised well over a million dollars since its inception in 1956.

…The Neighborhood Church

The Neighborhood Church is five generations of action-oriented people worshipping God and serving others in the Spirit of Jesus. We put our faith and energy into action for the good of the community and embrace service as a priority and responsibility. We are generous with our gifts and our time.

We worship together through prayer, music, Bible study and fellowship. We aspire to live the teachings of Jesus and to become biblically literate. We foster a safe environment where we love and encourage one another to grow in our faith and compassion while serving God’s world.

Our stunning sanctuary perched on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean welcomes you. Our small group ministries, choirs, events, and educational programs are open to all. The Neighborhood Church has a space for you.

Our Tour this year includes stunning Palos Verdes Peninsula homes and the Historical Haggarty Mansion, Neighborhood Church followed by tea at the Church.

Christmas Brunch

Nestled between beautiful front and back gardens, this home has grown and changed over the years just as its gregarious family has. The “girls bedroom” is now the grand children’s playroom. The once small kitchen and eating area now seats 12 comfortably with plenty of room for more. The master suite is now a bright sanctuary sheltered from the street but open to the garden. You’ll be transformed too, just by passing through.

Christmas Day

Perched on the cliffs above the ocean looking out over the Channel Islands, this house is settled back from the street and is surrounded by lush plantings. We enter directly into the view as wide windows edge the living room and patio just beyond. Natural black walnut floors and crystal chandeliers add subtle richness and sparkle to the ambiance. You’l agree that there could not be a more beautiful setting.

Celebrate Christmas

Jewel of the Peninsula, the Haggarty Mansion was one of the first, largest and most elaborate custom homes of its time. In 1927 it was built as a family oasis on a coveted cliffside location with unobstructed ocean views. Featuring soaring coffered ceilings, hand-painted, gilded murals, carved stone capitals and sconces, and magnificent hand wrought iron gates the structure and gardens hug the cliffs with waves crashing below. Go back in time as you view this historic “home” with a new perspective.

Our Annual Tea

This is the 56th year of the Yule Parlor Parade and, for all those many years, Tea at the Church has been a large part of the success that has allowed the Women’s Fellowship to give so generously to South Bay charities. Who can resist the delicate homemade cookies, filled puffs, and freshly made and garnished sandwiches? We invite you to listen to music as you sip tea or punch on the sea-side patio.

Visit our Yule Shop, Vintage Shop, and Bake Shop to top off your festive day. You will find one-of-a-kind hand-made crafts and holiday accents in our Yule Shop, Scrumptious home-made baked goods in our Bake Shop, and fabulous treasures in our new Vintage Shop.
