Celebrate National Peking Duck Day with a Peking Duck Feast at Tasty Duck!

Please Make Note of Pleasure Palate Attendance Policies and our 3 Strikes Rule by clicking here before RSVP-ing to this Event. Cancelling your RSVP within 24 hours or not showing up at the event without contacting the Organizer ahead of time will result in a strike. 3 Strikes and You're Out!

We will be dining "Family Style," and will be divided up into 3 tables of 10. The food bill will be split evenly amongst all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their own beverages. Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance on attending, you have to be amenable to what the group will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. The goal for family-style dining is to allow for the entire group to sample as wide a variety of dishes as possible. If one or more attendees choose to order on their own, that limits the group's choices, which defeats the purpose of what Family-Style Dining is all about. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you.

Well, according to Eater LA, today is National Peking Duck Day, which only gives me another reason to chow down on some delicious crispy Peking Duck, and why don't we feast on a couple of Peking Ducks at Tasty Duck in San Gabriel? Tasty Duck, so far, prepares the best Peking Duck I've had in a long while. I find their ducks to have the crispiest skins without the excessive oil. I love their ducks more than the ones I had at Beijing Duck House, Duck House, A1 Seafood Restaurant, to name a few.

In addition to their renown Peking Duck, Tasty Duck also serves up a Baked Eel & Stick Rice dish, as well as a crispy fish in a sweet & sour sauce.

Yelp reviewers gave Tasty Duck an average rating of 3.50 Stars out of 5.00 Stars from over 71 reviews. You can read those reviews here:

We will be ordering their set menu of dishes and supplement that with a few additional dishes. The proposed menu for this feast may include some or all of the following dishes:

  • 2 Peking Ducks in 3 preparations
  • Happy Family 4-Appetizer Platter
  • Braised Sea Cucumber
  • Crispy Shrimps with Fried Coconut and Chiles
  • French Style Filet Mignon Cubes
  • Scallops with Vegetables
  • Sticky Rice with BBQ Eel
  • Cumin Lamb
  • Sweet and Sour Whole Fish

The expected cost per person is about $40.00, depending on how much food we order, any beverages you order, plus tax and gratuity. As such, please bring at least $60 in CASH to settle your portion of the bill (smaller bills preferred). Parking is available in the strip mail where Tasty Duck is located. Street parking is available as well. Be sure to check street signs for any parking restrictions. We will meet in front of the restaurant at 7:00pm. As always, please call or text me if you arrive before I do, or are running late, or are lost. If you do arrive before I do, reservations are under "Toy."

I had posted I was coming because I forgot to click on 'NO" when it asked me to JOIN and RSVP, therefore, automatically said YES! As soon as I realized that, I made sure I changed it to Sorry, NO! Just want to make sure you are aware I won't be coming this Friday night since I have a previous engagement. Thank you!

If I get enough people on the Wait List, I may arrange to get a 3rd table.
