Introduction

I love to try different types of restaurants (from holes in the wall to fine dining establishments). Since dining alone is "just eating," I wanted to enjoy a meal with like minded people.

Favorite Cuisines

All of the Asian Cuisines, Cajun/Creole, Italian, French....there are too many to chose from!

Favorite Restaurants

I'm a big fan of Korean BBQ at the moment...but I'll try anything once!

Favorite Comfort Foods

Any type of soup is soothing to the body, mind, and soul....my mother's gumbo is a standout.

Favorite Cookbooks

Anything by Michael Bittman or Julia Child provides a great introduction to cooking. I also like Deborah Madison's books for meatless recipes. Elizabeth David's cookbooks read more like novels, but provide a glimpse into another world...

Best Meal I Ever Ate

When I was in Paris in 2009, I ate at an interesting restaurant called "Ribouldinge." The word roughly translates to "eat yourself silly." They specialize in offal, and I had a bitter greens salad topped with cow's udder and a lovely tripe dish...
