Next Monday, August 18th, at 7:00 PM at the Iguana Grill on RR 620 (overlooking Lake Travis) we will be having our 1st Meetup in 2014. I dropped by the establishment and spoke with the Manager. He said if we were welcome to meet there and even offered a private, air conditioned room if we so desired. I was looking for a place where we meet informally in a reasonably quite place.
My agenda for this meeting is simple, provide an environment where PM and those interested in Project Management meet informally to network and discuss what going on in Austin and the surrounding regarding Project Management. I’ve been working as a PM in the nuclear power generating field. The demands of that environment are maintaining the budget and schedule with a very high level of planning, choreographing pending work, and minimizing the unknown. At $70K+ an hour for reactor downtime, mistakes are costly. Most PMs in Austin work in a very different environment. I’d like to hear about it.
If you’ve never been to the Iguana Grill (2900 Ranch Rd 620 N, Austin, TX 78731 - iguanagrillaustin.com) they serve Mexican food and drinks atop cliff overlooking Lake Travis. They have plenty of convenient parking, great view of the hill country and food and drink.
