The Lexington Poetry Group (“Poezia”) Meetup is a poetry workshop. The primary purpose is to offer constructive criticism regarding the elements of craft in each poem. Each member should bring copies of their poem. We also spend time on generative writing, craft exercises, and reading poems from nationally known poets. Members of all experience levels are welcome.  This is a welcoming group, and it’s a great group if you are just starting out, hit writer’s block, or if you are working on a manuscript. Members range from beginning writers to published poets.  The Meetup is coorganized and cohosted by Katie Riley and Kimberly Miller, two poets who hold Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry.

We love new members! And we love visitors!  We meet every Thursday at 7pm at Common Grounds Coffee Shop in the back room. Common Grounds is located at 343 E High St., Lexington, KY. We hope to see you there!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
