I am a fan of the High Modernists. At the center of the Modernist vortex, to me, were James Joyce and Ezra Pound.
The poetry of Ezra Pound is deep, rich, and learned, and will reward close attention. But EP is dismissed with a single word, and some of the greatest poetry in the English language is reviled, much of it out of ignorance, bias, and self-righteous hypocrisy. This group will ease the difficulties, and in time come to a truce with some of the problematic passages. We will focus on the POETRY, not on a pose.

Hi Chris!! So glad you joined. It's so important to have as many perspectives as possible in our discussions. Also, as you probably observed, we have a lot of fun when we get together. Can't wait to see you on March 20th at Swift for the next meetup!
