Open forum

Backspace is a pretty cool internet cafe and it is very large. It is a comfortable environment with large chairs, couches, and tables and it is relatively quiet given its size. I thought we'd have an open forum for anyone who would like to share their poetry, bring some poetry you admire to read, or just come and listen. Since this is downtown, it is somewhat close to the SW park blocks and I will be walking up to the Portland Art Museum after this to check out Apollo Poetry's outdoor poetry "picnic." Should be a lot of fun. Hope you can join us!

It was fine while we were there, but a while after I left I started having back pain, which I think was because of the chair. Next time I will sit in one of the wooden chairs instead of the cushioned chair.

I had a good time meeting with other people, sharing ideas and poems. It was nice to talk about different poets, read our own stuff, and share our thoughts about what we heard. Great event, but a different venue next time would be nice. All in all, I had a good time. And yes, I liked how we were able to talk about current events - Iran's election, Twitter, US politics - and swing back to poetry. That made it even better for me.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
