Ursula K. LeGuin is speaking about her poetry in Salem!

Salem Public Library Foundation is presenting “An Evening with Ursula K. Le Guin” fundraiser November 7, 2013, on the Willamette University campus. The author of more than one hundred short stories, four collections of essays, seven volumes of poetry, and nineteen novels, Ms. Le Guin has a large international following.

“A century from now people will still be reading the fantasy stories of Ursula K. Le Guin with joy and wonder. Five centuries from now they might ask if their author ever really existed, or if Le Guin was an identity made from the work of many writers rolled into one. A millennium on and her stories will be so familiar, like myths and fairytales today, that only dedicated scholars will ask who wrote them. Such is the fate of the truly great writers, whose stories far outlive their names.”
~ Damien Walter, The Guardian

General Admission tickets for the 7:30 pm presentation are $25; and Premier tickets are $60. Premier tickets include reserved seating, 6:30 – 7:15 reception and book signing with the author. Tickets are available at Salem Public Library, Travel Salem and online at
