Please write an acrostic poem for this meetup. An acrostic poem is using the first letter of each first word of each line of poetry to form a word running down vertically. Here are some examples of acrostic poetry:

If you have any unfinished poems, acrostic or otherwise, that you feel stuck on, please bring them to the group with a copy to pass out and we can discuss and critique the poems.

If you have a poem you would like to read written by yourelf or another poet, please bring that also.

We will conclude the meetup with our group poetry session, much like group therapy ;-).

See you then!

Acrostic poems are usually very bad. This makes it a big challenge. There should be no hint that it's an acrostic.

The challenge is actually to write an unusually bad acrostic poem. Who ever writes the worst acrostic poem will be awarded the Acrostink Poetry Award for 2012.
