Rhoda
I did try again today to find your group. I walked through the Borders on Bellflower near Stearns from 3PM until 3:30. Someone at the store thought you would be upstairs in the artium but there was no one there. You were not listed as an event and they had to call around to see if anyone knew of any kind of writers group that meets there. I have lost the email you sent for this week, so not sure if you still meet downstairs, as it says here.

Sorry to have missed you again. You might consider listing your group with the store so that they know where you are when someone tries to find you. This is the second time I have gone to Borders to meet the group and not been able to find you. Sorry- but it is so frustrating!!

If you are comfortable with it, can you send me your cellphone # so I can find you at the next one I can attend? Thanks.I will be able to make the one on July 18th next (all the others I am out of town or booked). I have marked it in my calender and am hoping to find you then.

Once I make one of them and see the setup I will feel more comfortable submitting work. I am going to start reading at Veinto's from a blog story I am writing. Hopefully that will be moving forward by the time I make it out to your group (and can find you!) in July.

Still optomistic about joining your group!

Dear Mela,

I am a published poet who is VERY interested in meeting & sharing work with other poets. However, I won't be able to join you April 11 because I will be hosting a writers' workshop at Borders Books that day.

I believe I invited you to attend our 1st meeting this coming
Sunday, March 14, at 3:00 p.m. My hope is there will be enough interest for a group to meet every other week to discuss work in progress (and one of the "other" weeks happens to fall on 4/11).

From the responses I've received, it looks like a good group is shaping up. Of course, I can't predict that the chemistry will be right for everyone, & that it won't fizzle out by April, altho' I sincerely hope the group flies like a phoenix on steroids!

In case you need the info for next Sunday, I'm pasting it below. I sure hope I get a chance to meet you & hear your work. Please let me know if you schedule a poetry meetup any time other than Sunday afternoons.

Details:

Please bring a poem or poet that you particularly enjoy. We will also discuss our writing of poetry. If you wish to read a poem or two of your own, than there will be an opportunity. We will also look into doing public group readings and possibly publishing our works. Come and meet other poets in our neighborhood, no matter how far you are along in your writing. The group is formed to be an inspiration to move us to our next step wherever we may be on the road.
