Why are you interested in this Meetup group? What do you expect to get out of this group?

I hope to meet even more Polish people and friends of Poland through this group. Since I co-organize various Polish events and activities in the Washington metropolitan area, I hope to attact members of this Meetup group to those things. Finally, I like to learn about new ways of using online tools for community organizing purposes.

Where are you from originally?

I was born and raised Warsaw. I moved to the U.S. in 1981 when I was almost 18.

How long have you been in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area?

Since the summer of 1981.

How did you hear about the group?

Probably from Adam Duda or... the Polish Dragon.

Are you from Poland or of Polish descent or are you interested in Polish culture even though you are not Polish yourself?

I am from Poland.

Hi, my name is Marcin and I am an addict. I am addicted to all things Polish, especially Polish events in the Washington metropolitan area. Check out my Polish Global Village announcement list at http://groups.yah...

What Marcin Z. is saying about this Meetup Group

I think that it's good that this Meet-Up group started and continues to grow. The Polish community of the Washington metropolitan area and Baltimore should experiment with new methods of communication. As the list owner and manager of the Polish Global Village Yahoo! Group (over 1,200 members), which serves the same demographic group and region, I have observed and supported many local Polish initiatives. In my opinion, we should continue to use diverse methods and promote multiple groups. Rather than worrying about overlap, we need to nurture friendly relations between the various groupings and practice cross-marketing or mutual support.
