Hello! My name is Erik. I have a B.S. in Biology from Portland State University. My passions reside in all things biology and I would like to make biology available to a wider audience. I see biology as a keystone tool of future technology.
I would like to organize a group of DIYBio enthusiasts to 1) discuss all/any aspects of DIYBio, 2) develop projects, and 3) setup Portland's first community DIYbio lab and hackerspace. I hope to learn more about bioengineering, sythentic biology, programming, and most importantly, your ideas!
My background is in ecology, biology, and geology. I am brushing up on DNA/microbiology (I have some lab experience) and teaching myself how to code using Python. I am diligent, curious, and looking to benefit our community through biology.
Hello, Erik! Thanks for the welcome message. I hope to see you all at an event soon.
Thank you for setting up this group! It was great meeting you and the rest of the group yesterday. Hope to be back soon!
I didn't realize it was Thursday until 9 or 10PM last night! Too into a coding project this week...
Congrats on starting up DIYBio PDX! Your progress is stunning; Portland is a truly wonderful and exciting city to be in. I'm sure that it will be a stunning success. Thank you for your invitation! I look forward to meeting you and everyone. As well, let me extend an invitation to you and your group to visit us up in Vancouver.
I totally recognize you from around PSU, but I wasn't sitting on the esplinade today. Not sure who that was? Anyway, it appears that you were part of putting this group together--thanks. I'm going to try to make it Thursday, pending child care.
Howdy! Can't wait to see what folks are up to! :)
