SO, i tried to send a little message to everyone on the meetup list to the right >>
however, you can only send 12 messages a day, and only so many wall post a day also, and considering there were about 20+ photographers, i will be contacting this list for about 3 days!!! is there anyone who has a list of photographers who attended?

    July 24, 2013

    • designdog

Yep. Can't shoot and everyone who can -- standing around or doing the wrong thing. :-) 3 zombies alone I coulda gotten like over 1000 images. not to mention all the models.

where is location? there are people on the waiting list. so I am confused that this event still has 5 slots open. someone please call or text me.

    June 29, 2013

    • designdog

I JUST WANT TO POINT OUT: NO RESPONSE FROM MY ORIGINAL POST. --- "Just so I know. and understand here. -- Email me the details. -- What Exactly happened?? -- Forget about the waiting list. -- You paid to go to the Event like 3 hours before and you did not know where the location was?? Or you forgot it was on that day?? You were confused about getting off the waiting list and then you finally paid but it ended up being 3 hours before, the machine sucked your money, and you didn't know where to go, even though you thought it was on another day? - Is that right?? I am confused." PLEASE EMAIL ME DIRECTLY AS TO WHAT HAPPENED.

      1 · July 25, 2013

    • designdog

ALSO - I AM NOT GOING TO GO INTO IT FURTHER -- BUT TO MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR, AS OTHERS HAVE POINTED OUT, JUST FOR THE RECORD -- I DO NOT, AS IN NOT, MAKE ANY, ZERO, NADA, MONEY OFF OF ORGANIZING THESE EVENTS. WHATEVER TIME IS INVESTED IS COMPLETELY FREE AND UNPAID, EVERY LITTLE MINUTE, INCLUDING DOWN TO THIS POST. NO MONEY RECEIVED PERIOD. END OF STORY. ---- KEN IS CORRECT "The venue was expensive to rent. Dog (Simon) posted clear conditions pertaining to attending the shoot." (And someone had send out an email to a few organizers stating that my conditions and all cap colored lettering on the FRONT of the Event page, PLUS, questions before you Paid/Signed up too Harsh. huh? Maybe, Maybe Not. Ever read the back of ANY event ticket? It's like a contract. ?hello? -- FREEMAN IS CORRECT "It's a thankless UNPAID job." -- Please send me details of what happened to my profile email and will be glad to review it.

Just in case you were aware. When you made a post with zenfolio link and password, I think it was accidental and then you delete that post. That post it made it to the mailing list. So there maybe other that receive that email along with the link and password. If you are not intended for other photographers to get this, maybe you should rename the link and/or change the password.

I tried email you personally instead, but kept getting this error, "You entered a bad response. Please try again."

    July 24, 2013

    • Kin

everyone at attend is welcome to look..

      July 24, 2013

  • Freeman

(part 2 of 2) I acknowledged that everyone has strong points and weaknesses and we all are coming from various background. Say, if you are an experience model and notice a photographer(after you have seen the images) with skill but lack experience in say retouching or directing model. That model could give a feedback so she can have better images from that photographer next time. Or maybe something as simple as how she like certain images look than another. I'm sure the feedback can go both way.

    1 · July 23, 2013

    • Kin

As alway we encourage people to post picture up and people critique, some on or will be bad just take is as a learning experience

      1 · July 23, 2013

  • Freeman

(part 1 of 2) Maybe this is not a good time to mention this, or maybe there already were something like this. Since I'm new here, and I might not know what's going on in general. But I just wonder, could there also post-event meetup. Or at least encourage a post-shoot communication between models and photographers. I meant even though we all are collaborating but we don't necessary have the same goal. I notice there isn't much exchange communication afterward. I know everyone have a job and maybe busy. But if what you do here is your passion then shouldn't we all trying to learn something from each other? I mean the lack of communication afterward meant you don't have any feedback.

  • Johnny

Somebody at this shoot had fake guns where can you buy those?

    July 9, 2013

    • Freeman

True, but I don't think that is the purpose of the law. I think the purpose is to prevent accidental fatality. Seriously, if somebody is determind to kill another, that person can still do so with or w/o a gun.

      July 11, 2013

I love skydrive to send pics. Fast upload, clean design, works on mobile, and easy to download on mobile. Sometimes models have issues downloading images to phone with some sites. For portfolio I love flickr. Easy to integrate flickr to fb, twitter, and website. So upload images on flickr and everything is auto posted on fb, twitter and website. The design is also very clean. It's all free too. If you run out of space then use another email account. ;)

      July 4, 2013

    • designdog

Thomas brought up a good point. Flickr that has been around forever is easy to feed into a webpage and other sources. Plus they upped the storage space. The only thing bad about Flickr is their own interface is a bit slow. But ya Flickr.

I know the contact list email hasn't been email out yet. But let's say when that happen, what's the prefer method to deliver the photos? Or do we host them somewhere with the password and email the model/mua the passwords?

Also, would it be possible to get the small thumbnail of the model with the makeup on that shoot next to the name the model/mua so we won't get confuse. Just a suggestion.

FYI, tried in-camera HDR, it's miserable. The color is nice, but there is a blur effect. But you just don't get to control that blur effect. It may works on other shoot, but with this much people it just doesn't work.

    June 29, 2013

    • Freeman

Camera shake wasn't the problem. I was only trying that while I was on the roof(plenty of light to get shutter speed high enough). While yes, it could be sharper with a tripod, but sharing models means they have to move and look around. And that's not their fault. What I was trying was just being unrealistic. But somebody just have to try and fail to learn why it fails.

      June 30, 2013
