Let shoot some quality fashion images in and around the ever beautiful location of Downtown Los Angeles!
This is a good opportunity to challenge yourselves to create urban style editorial fashion shots for your portfolios.
As we will be working in Downtown LA, we will have to limit ourselves on equipment that we can use. Many locations (Disney Hall for example) do not allow the use of reflectors or umbrellas on their premises. Best to keep lighting equipment unobtrusive and mobile.
I have currently set this meetup to waitlist, I need at least 5 committed photographers who don't have their heads up their behinds and who can produce quality photographs for designer and submit images to talent in a timely manner. Once I get those 5 minimum photographers signed up, I will open RSVP's to everyone.
Now, I have been having recurring issues with a few members, so I am going to put out some basic requirements for working with the model/s.
The model/s will be working for trade (TFI - Time For Images) meaning they MUST receive photographs from this shoot for their own personal portfolios. Please respect the Models, MUA, and clothing designers and ensure that they receive some photos within a timely manner.
Please do not monopolize the models, remember that there will be other photographers wanting to shoot, please be kind and respectful of each other, take turns to ensure that everybody gets a chance to shoot!
Modeling/Posing is very hard work and can be quite tiresome. Please allow the models to occasionally take a break as needed.
Please respect the models personal barriers or “safety-zone”. Do not touch the models to pose them without their express permission. This is akin to groping and creeps the model/s out quite readily. If there is a wardrobe problem please ask the model to fix it, do not take it upon yourself to start pulling at the models clothes without their permission.
Do not force or badger the models into posing in a manner that they feel uncomfortable with. If the model is apprehensive about certain themes or styles, drop it and do not assert “peer-pressure” just to get what you want.
Please do not make sexually suggestive comments towards model/s, this is just plain rude and creepy.
I know many of these guidelines may seem obvious, but I want to be certain that everyone understands. I can no longer tolerate poor behavior, I have been very lenient with many of you, hoping perhaps that time and experience would prove the importance of professionalism. Unfortunately, my patience is beginning to wear a bit thin, anyone blatantly disregarding these guidelines, will be asked to leave shoot in no uncertain terms.
I don't think it is a great deal to ask everyone to please maintain a level of professionalism towards models and other members.
If we all work hard together, we can ensure a fun shoot for everyone!
I will post a few pics of confirmed models below, be aware that if viewing this info via the Meetup app, photos may not be visible.
