On April 26, thousands of individuals, from grandparents to toddlers, will be lacing up to run, jog, or walk their way through a 5K as part of the WCS Run for the Wild. Find out how you can be part of this stampede for elephants!
Many will cover their 3.1 miles at the flagship event in the Bronx Zoo, while others will map their own route and complete their miles right in their backyard, or even on the treadmill at home or their local gym.
Where you do your 5K matters less than what you're doing: taking a stand for elephants.
It's simple really:
Sign up and, if you can't make it to the Bronx Zoo, choose the "Virtual Runner" option. Your registration is completely free – and we'll give you access to tools that will help you turn your 5K into a powerful fundraising machine.
Recruit friends and family to join you! There's nothing like a 5K with friends. You'll all get some exercise and an incredible feeling of accomplishment. You can even start a team when you register, and then invite others to join it.
Start fundraising for elephants! We'll give you a bunch of tools to make it easy. Raise at least $30 and we'll send you a Run for the Wild kit, including a commemorative t-shirt.
Keep fundraising! There are some great prizes to be won as you raise more, including a cuddly elephant plush, a coffee tumbler, a backpack, a hoodie, and more.
Each walker or runner is helping raise critical funds for elephant protections and doing their part to ensure a future where elephants still roam Africa's forests and savannahs.
Individually our steps might be small, but together we're a thunderous force up to the task of helping the world's largest land animal.
