We are a community of artists, and how lucky we are!
The image above is of Chris Haberman and his mural "Faces of Hawthorne" that was done back in 2012. Have you seen it? Chris runs the People's Art Gallery downtown and has been a promoter of the Portland artist community for years through projects like this mural and others he's done in collaboration with other artists, the city and businesses. What does community mean to you? Create a new piece to express this, or bring an existing piece that fits the theme, or just bring a piece you want to share with your community of artists! We just want you there!
We will also be doing the 6 x 6 Art Exchange at this meeting. If you were at the January Celebration meetup and took one of the 6 x 6 canvases, please bring it to the meetup wrapped for a blind exchange. Each participating artist will draw a number and select a piece in turn. We will do this toward the end of the meeting. If you want to participate but won't make it to the meeting, please email me so we can make arrangements to get your piece to me before March 30th. I will draw a number and select a piece for you.
If you have any questions please let me know! Looking forward to another great meeting with my community! :)
PS - please note we are meeting earlier than our usual time!
