June Theme : : Tall Tales

tall tale is a story with unbelievable elements, related as if it were true and factual. Some such stories are exaggerations of actual events, for example fish stories ('the fish that got away') such as, "That fish was so big, why I tell ya', it nearly sank the boat when I pulled it in!" Other tall tales are completely fictional tales set in a familiar setting, such as the European countryside, theAmerican frontier, the Canadian Northwest, or the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

Tall tales are often told in a way that makes the narrator seem to have been a part of the story. They are usually humorous or good-natured. The line between legends and tall tales is distinguished primarily by age; many legends exaggerate the exploits of their heroes, but in tall tales the exaggeration looms large, to the extent of becoming the whole of the story.

For me a little confusion. I was the only one who told the tall tale. It was the lion and the beetle. I brought in a painting of a lion and one of a beetle. Oh well.

I had a piece all ready to go, had done it some time past. May bring it anyway, since it's now framed up. Depends on the next theme ;) (I could bring both)

That sounds good. I just emailed you the very rough draft of the book cover for the new book. I will definitely be able to bring that, and more. Feeling so much better.

Sorry… I thought today was Saturday.
I finally got some sleep last night. But then an altercation with our neighbor, who constantly harasses us… so. Fun.

Sorry all, can't make it today. Tweaked my knee this week. Had a care worker quit, and had to complete a lot of extra work until I hire a new one. I hoped to go today and meet the group, but no can do :(

Hey y'all. Sorry to bail at the last minute but I'm feeling under the weather this morning. I'll see y'all at the next meeting though.

I wish I could be there tomorrow but my MS is really, really bad today. It's been giving me way too much grief for several days but is mega bad today. I always have something going on but am able to deal with it. Not right now. My meds can only help so much. Good day to be in a coma. Spasms, nerve pain galore sprinkled with extra numbness, nasty fatigue, stiff muscles, and general overall suckiness. Hope I can make it next month.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
