My daughter in law spotted it on the internet and brought it to my attention.
Friendship with people of similar interests, connection with the "art world" in this area, the chance to see new work and exchange ideas etc.
To start getting my paintings seen again, to learn new media and techniques, to get excited about my work again and start producing beautiful stuff like crazy. :P
In the 60's I attended the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, Pratt, The New School. I studied with with Bill DeKooning, Elaine DeKooning, Sherman Drexler, the poet Frank Lima and others in the "scene" at that time. Primarily I am a painter but I love doing pen and ink and oil crayon drawings. I do portraits that are designed to show the character and spirit of the person rather than the physical body. I love color and believe art has to have a sense of humor!
My ultimate favorite artist is Vincent Van Gogh . However I love so many - Klee, Klimpt, Gaugain, Modigliani, De Kooning, Bosch, Dali - too many favorites to note. I love the abstract expressionists & impressionists.
Hi! My name is Rosalinde (Roz) Gilmer Reece. I have been painting for a long time, shown in NY, LA, Philly. I've basically been inactive in the "art world" for 30+ yrs. I recently moved to PDX and would like to connect.
A talented group of friendly and original people.
