    I didn't have a chance to respond to your comment this afternoon. When I said that the tango instructor was being "arrogant" I meant that "arrogance" was the meaning that her behavior had for me. She may have intended something very different. (I learned later from people who had taken her workshops that she had a reputation for treating people in a pretty rough and high handed way, so it would seem at least that my interpretation was shared.)

    According to my meanings, arrogant treatment is disrespetful, and I dislike being treated with disrespect. Hence, my anger toward her. I didn’t see her as doing something “wrong” or “bad,” but something that I intensely disliked!
    To be sure that you understand what I mean by "judgmental": it's the "right & wrong", "good & evil" moral labeling, which stands in contrast to "I like it & I don’t like it," which is the position I’ve found for myself to feel most authentic.
