Join us for a historic opportunity to learn and experience the building of a Food Forest Garden at USM Portland! Forest gardening is based on Permaculture design principles, mimicking woodland ecosystems, which can provide food, medicine and fiber for humans as well as a habitat to support other species including our bee populations. A sustainable, closed loop systems approach to gardening that rejuvenates ecosystems with minimal upkeep.
David Homa, graduate of USM and currently of Post Carbon Designs and Resilient Roots, designed the USM food forest garden and will be leading the workshop on food forest gardens on the USM campus @ Luther Bonney Hall, room 403. You are then invited to attend a hands on opportunity for you to be part of the installation on Thursday, June 27th from 4:30 -8:30pm.
Attendees are encouraged to attend BOTH events as that will enhance learning of the concepts and provide a skill workforce during the installation. Please reference the June 27th Meetup , USM Portland Food Forest Garden Installation Workparty, for details and to save your place at the event!
