Carpool to the Common Ground Country Fair

Many of our meetup members will be going to the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity Maine this year.  Please consider using the comments area of this page to indicate when you might be going and if you'd like to carpool from your location.  Based on that you can send messages to each other to organize details and trade mobile phone numbers.

Portland-area folks are encouraged to use the Park-and-Ride locations, though other folks may certainly find other meeting points from their parts of the state!

Here is a link to the online scheduling tool for the Fair in case you want to plan your time around sessions and other happenings.

I will be leaving from Freeport, Maine on Friday AM... and will be returning the same day- but returning the scenic route in order to show my friend, Anna (who is visiting from the UK) some of Maine on the way home. I have 2 more seats in my car... please join us if you want a ride one-way; or a ride both ways- if you want to act as "tour guide/guided" with us on the way back. Please let me know if you want to carpool from Freeport or any other point north (Brunswick, for example).

Meant to tell you Lesley, I'll be wearing grey jeans, a yellowish shirt and I'll have a backpack with me. Just so you know it's me :)

I am leaving Portland for Unity at about 3 pm Thursday, returning to Portland late Saturday afternoon. my car is small and I will have camping gear, so I could take one other person with similar gear or two others traveling lighter.

I'm going up on Wednesday from Brunswick, returning on Sunday. 1 or 2 seats available.

My daughter is looking for a ride up on Saturday afternoon from Portland, if anyone can help.

I'm tempted to go but with my hands full working on the many photos for the second book I just finished writing - Sing to Me and I Will Hear You - The Love Story, it's wiser for me to decline this year. Besides that, I'm leading the Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) at Portland Yoga Studio the next day, on Sept 21. At 78, I have to pace myself even if I do have a lot of energy. BTW, permaculture is featured in my book along with yoga and peacework.

We are volunteering heavily at the fair this year. We live just outside Augusta. One of us is camping at the fairgrounds from Thursday till Sunday, so the trip up and back on those days we can transport one person, all other times two people. Thursday, we will be leaving the Augusta area around 11:30, and leaving Unity around 6pm. On Friday we leave here at 6:30am and stay for the day. Saturday is our day to just enjoy the fair, so we'll be leaving at 7:30 and coming back at 5 or so. Sunday, we leave at 5:30am and start back at the close of the fair.

I can only go Sunday. My boyfriend and I will probably leave Portland around 10 and stay until the fair closes (at 5). We'll have 2-3 seats in our car, or would be happy to jump in someone else's! We could also bring some people home who might get a ride up earlier in the day or weekend.
