Permablitz (noun): An informal gathering involving a day on which a group of people come together to achieve the following:

  • create or add to edible gardens where someone lives
  • share skills related to permaculture and sustainable living
  • build community networks
  • have fun

 

Join us for a day long implementation of a permaculture design in Portland.

Projects to be completed:

Urban Composter system

Hoophouse for raised beds

Rain barrel set up/ water catchment how to

Sheetmulching in the city

...plus re-purposing of urban materials for outdoor seating/furniture

and Cordwood walking paths

Permaculture design by Post Carbon Designs

 

 

Schedule: 9:00 Gather/Coffee/Tea/Briefing on Work Party Plan for the Day

9:30 Review of Permaculture Design Principles and Homeowner Needs

10:30 Break into teams and work on projects

12:30 Potluck Lunch

1:00 Resume work

3:30 Check-in & prioritize final hour / clean-up

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What to bring! Bring a notebook, camera (if desired), work gloves and boots. Wear clothes that can get a bit dirty. Dress in layers in case things start out cool and warm up over the course of the day. Bring a potluck dish to share and don't forget your potluck "kit" (dish/bowl/utensils/cup/napkin).

    wow! harness the power and have a blitz! a handfull of helpers for one day at the Yelton's was deeply joyous and productive....tomorrow will certainly have it's own glow....a plan, many hands and fair weather! Look forward to being there, I may have to leave around 2.
