How did you find this particular group? (word of mouth? internet? etc.)

Elaine McGillicuddy has been my teacher and inspiration for twenty years. Dave Homa was a great help with our roof garden and water harvesting. I became interested in this group through these two individuals.

What interests you about this particular group?

I've been interested in Permaculture for several years now and would like to meet people in Maine involved in permaculture and hear about local initiatives.

Are you living/gardening/growing predominantly in an urban, suburban or rural setting?

We live in downtown Portland. We have container gardens on one of our roofs and started harvesting water this year. Sarah Bostick did a design for me two years ago but because of the high lead content and concern for my young son we haven't implemented it. We have land in Western Massachusetts where we plan on putting an off the grid structure and utilizing permaculture principals.

Do you have any sustainable/resilient living skills that you'd be interested in sharing? Any that you'd like to learn?

Our roof garden is unique and I'd be happy to share any ideas from it. I'm hoping to take the next permaculture course and learn sustainable/resilient living skills.

Introduction

I live in downtown Portland with my husband and young son. I have an older son too! I recently finished a permaculture design project for my teacher's ashram in India. I completed my PDC in Western MA through Sewing Solutions at Sirius Eco Village .
