Local Food || Global Food: Do We Have What It Takes To Reinvent the U.S. Food System?

Join the Maine Law Review for a lively food law and policy discussion on Saturday, February 23, 2013, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in Portland High School’s auditorium (284 Cumberland Avenue, Portland, Maine). The event will bring together more than a dozen legal scholars from around the country to debate the future of the U.S. food system.

Topics will include: problems with federal food regulations, challenges facing food choice movements, and how governments should respond to emerging food trends. A full schedule of events is at www.mainelawreview.org.

This event is free and open to the public. The first 150 registrants may purchase a locally-sourced lunch provided by Rosemont Market for $10.

Online registration is now open! To register, please follow this link (https://securelb.imod...)

It has been said that who controls the money supply controls the government. But, it is beyond question that who controls the food supply controls all.
The increasing erosion of our rights as human beings to determine, among many other things, what food we eat and how we grow and/or access that food is a progressive journey to serfdom.

"If we give them less, they’ll buy less, and the competitor will get our market. So you’re sort of trapped.”

To the corporate purveyors of food, what they are selling is treated like any other marketed product.
It's not about nutrition. It's about market share.
