Passing this along for permie folks who might want to deepen observation and recording skills. Our neighbors here in Rockland, Karen and Ret Talbot, are passionate about art, conservation and stewardship.

Great workshop opportunity at the height of summer. Here are some details from Karen's website and the event info.

"Karen Talbot is an award-winning conservation artist known primarily for her lifelike, fine art paintings and scientific illustrations of fishes, birds and botanicals. Splitting her time between the rocky coast and brook trout streams of midcoast Maine and the mountains of western Wyoming, Karen takes her inspiration from oceans, streams, canyons, and mountains where she regularly dives, fishes and climbs. An ardent conservationist, she aims to educate through her art, and she donates a percentage of sales to help conserve wildlands (and waters) that inspire her.

"This two-day intensive workshop includes fieldwork and studio instruction as you bring a natural history subject to life on paper. No experience is necessary. $100 for the two days (includes lunch and materials)."
