We are seeking to establish an agrarian intentional community in Benton, Maine and searching for passionate people with long and short-term commitments in mind. A more detailed document can be found on this link <www.meetup.com/portlandpermaculture/files/>. Once you are at the sight go to "Wild Folk Farm Description". The document will describe the land and its history, and offer some direction as to where we would like things to go. There have been a lot of people involved in this land in recent past and we are currently in a transition of personnel and direction for the land.

Our goal is to transfer the land to communal ownership, either as a corporation or land trust. At this stage, our mission and structure (legal, economic, power) are still developing and incomplete and will remain so until a few more committed pioneers join the creative process. Presently we have created and maintain a small scale, permaculture-based farm on 45 acres of land. In the upcoming seasons we plan to expand the infrastructure so an intentional community and/or more productive farm can thrive.

Please contact myself, Ben Rooney, the farm manager, if you would like to chat in more detail about the land, our vision and your possible involvement. I am leaving the farm and Maine for the winter months, but David Gulak, the owner, will be in the area throughout the winter. Either of us would be excited to meet you and show you around. We plan to be look over applications for the next few months, and while there is no deadline, spots might fill up. For those serious about Wild Folk, we do not require a resume, but a description of past experiences, skills, what type of involvement you foresee, and some of your visions and dreams would be helpful.

Lastly, please feel free to send this document to any other people or circles that might be interested.

I am very interested in your community but do not have any moments to tell you about myself until this holiday blitz gets over with! I will be watching for more info and hope to connect up with you via e-mail. Happy Thanksgiving!

Our website is up.
It has information about the farm and community, pictures, the application process and stuff about the lowland rice we grew. The rice PDF is under the contact section of the website, as well as here <http://wildfolkfarm.o...
