Here's a link to a great feature article about soil. Of particular interest to we 'permies' is the use of rows of stones in a manner similar to swales and terra preta soils in the Amazon.

Very interesting and thought provoking article.

Oooh, I'm fascinated with terra preta these days, since the Dave Jacke workshop anyway. Will absolutely check it out.

Hey, wow, that was a great article! It reminds me of that great bumpersticker that says: All soil is sacred.
I would love to learn more about terra preta asap!
