EFFICIENCY MAINE UPDATE
Tim Vrabel, Efficiency Maine, Deputy Division Director
Tuesday, October14, 2008 7:30 - 9:00 am
Abromson Center, Room 109, USM - Portland Campus

Tim will give an overview of the Efficiency Maine electricity conservation programs and touch upon other energy saving opportunities/programs currently in place. He will also provide an update on the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) carbon trading program and present a summary of the current energy conservation fund discussions. There are many broad conversations taking place in Maine regarding a comprehensive approach to energy services and programs. Mr. Vrabel will offer what he has observed and open the discussion to participants.

In a larger context:

new Maine laws are coming into focus such as the Building and Energy Codes
energy costs are increasing
elections are in November
the global financial world is reeling from the bailout
The Maine energy landscape is changing rapidly and it will be interesting to discuss how Maine can best cope with all of the above.
