So, what exactly does a member of the Portland Maine Permaculture Meetup Group do?

Well, all or some of the following....

• Attends monthly potluck meetups (generally the second Tuesday of the month, rotating location)
  
• Remembers to bring her/his potluck kit!
  
• Occasionally comes early to help set up or stays a few minutes late to help break down.
  
• Reads the online message boards.
  
• Contributes questions and responses to the online message boards.
  
• Posts files or photos of interest.
  
• Posts relevant event information on the message boards or asks the organizer to get it on our calendar.
  
• Suggests meetup topics or guests speakers.
  
• Tries to follow the RSVP guidelines as much as possible to make the volunteer organizer's life easier:)
  
• Invites other people to visit an event or join when appropriate.
  
• Is friendly, inviting, inclusive, respectful, compassionate and welcoming to existing and new members and event attendees.
  
• Is appreciative of and values the contribution of our guest speakers who are often volunteering their time.
  
• Finds ways to learn more about permaculture through group events or self-guided learning.
  
• Finds ways to try to incorporate some permaculture strategies into her/his own life.
  
• Seeks help and guidance from other members if needed.
  
• Communicates issues or concerns to the organizer whenever something comes up.
  
• Is actively contributing to a more localized, sustainable and healthy world.
  
• Has fun and feels supported by this great community!
