Enjoy a chillaxed Sunday evening at Cathedral Park Jazz Festival

NOTE:
I am cross-posting this with the "Jazz and Beyond" Meetup Group. They had a wonderful description of the event that I am merely copy-and-pasting for brevity.

We will join up with them on the spacious bowl lawn of beautiful Cathedral Park.

Here's the details:

Sunday at the festival becomes eclectic with domestic and international highlights including a West Coast introduction to the impressionistic compositions of Eri Yamamoto Trio of New York City, and the United States debut of the energetic Ventura Trio, from Sao Paulo. The progressive Brazilian Trio will launch their West Coast tour at CPJazz 2013. Also playing is Portland's own Blue Cranes, the New West Guitar Group and the Jessie Marquez Band.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and water. There will be vendors selling food and drinks. It's a good idea to patronize these stands, since it supports the festival. There is no admission charge. Drop by for all or part of the afternoon/ early evening.

Plans are deviating, unfortunately. Have a good, "chillaxing" time!

Hi Danel. From where are you coming. My car will be heading to the park from the S.E./Sellwood/Milwaukie area. If that is near you we can pick you up no problem. Otherwise, maybe someone else can, depending on what are you are in. Let us know.

Wait, I just ckd the venue's webpage, and it says there is a $15 ticket charge. Not free admission?

Not to worry Deb. It is absolutely 110% free park admission. I believe what has you confused is some adjunct live music events being held in a hotel. I've been going to the park for the past decade and no one charges, checks bags, or otherwise impedes you ;)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
