Announcing February Class Schedule!

Excited to announce February's Class Schedule! Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration. Invite your friends!

We have added the Charleston, including several exciting variations to be taught within the series, such as Tandem, Harlem Style, and Charleston Swingouts!

If you are NEW to swing dance or need to solidify your Swing basics again, take the East Coast Swing class.

We will be offering Beginning Lindy Hop again. This will provide an opportunity for East Coast Swing dancers from January to move into this class and for the original Lindy Hop students to further ground their basics.

Larry - I have taken beginner EC Swing lessons last month. Do I need to take the beginner lessons all over again this month or I could attend the next level lessons next month.

    February 5

    • Larry P.

Definitely take the Charleston class. It may be good to retake the EC Swing beginner level in order to solidify your basics. Let me know how you feel about taking that class again.

This is my fourth month taking beginner lesson as I took beginner lesson elsewhere Dec '13 and Jan '14 before joining your meetup group. I am looking forward to move to next level.

Great first class! The comrdery between Larry and Emily made for a fun and relaxed learning environment.

Emily is hilarious. We have been such good friends for TEN years so that's a long time to build a great dance connection on the floor together.

Fire hose fast, so you can't dwell in your head. But you learn to dance and begin the path to flying on the dance floor.
Will Larry teach us his chicken moves?

Randy was kind enough to send me some video footage from last night. Looks like I really missed out...takes a real pro to execute chicken moves like that. ;) Looking forward to seeing everyone next week and hopefully catching up quickly. I miss you all!

Hey Larry. Thanks for organizing this.
Should I contact Lenora's before the class to pay for the 4-week series?

    February 3

    • Randy P

You pay at registration when you get there. Show early for registration before your desired lesson.

Thanks, Randy. Yeah, just show up 15 minutes early and pay cash at the door. Looking forward to you coming. We always appreciate having new leads!

I'll be there for Charleston....and all its variations.

Is there no Lindy Hop II now? Or is that Charleston
    lesson?

    January 29, 2014

    • Larry P.

We are feeling that folks need more work grounding the basics of Lindy Hop. And we also wanted to attract more dancers to Lindy Hop from the East Coast Swing series since our group is relatively new. Once we have a new space in March, my hope is to offer quite a few classes on multiple days.

      Gotcha.

Apreciate the the outline and instructions on paper.
Helps me look back to see what I need work on. And
    meditate/visualize patterns.

  • Ray R.

I meant to say: If the 7:30 lesson is more advanced, to have it either at 6:30 or 8:30 to get more of use beginner level folks to take two classes.

    January 29, 2014

    • Larry P.

Skill level for 7:30pm is Beginner Level, an introduction to Charleston. Those in the East Coast lesson will be able to take the Charleston class, as well. I guarantee you will enjoy it!

      January 30

    • Randy P

I agree. Charleston being the pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow. Or Goal for newbies to do all three. Repeat of 1st two for $60 is a good deal. I personally am looking forward to move on to Int. Charleston. And Int. Swing.

      January 30

  • Ray R.

Please clarify the skill level for the 7:30 lesson (if this is more advanced, wouldn't it make more sense so the beginners could have two classes back to back. Am guessing most wont want to sit and wait for an hour on a week night and work awaiting the next day.

Note that we have decided to offer the Beginning Lindy Hop series again. Our goal is grow the Lindy Hop community by offering it to the January students who took East Coast Swing and to give the current Lindy Hop students an opportunity to further cement their basics.

Larry - I see that Lenora Ballroom have West Coast Swing scheduled @ 6:30 pm in their Feb schedule on Tuesdays. Will the EC Swing class be in different location or same location but different room ?

    January 28, 2014

    • Larry P.

This class will take place in the smaller ballroom across the hall at 6:30pm.

      January 28, 2014

I will be traveling the first week of Feb. but plan on being there for the rest of the classes.
