Join us Sunday at 3pm for a one hour Pranakriya Yoga Flow Class for ages 8 and up: Stretch, Strengthen, Meditate class taught by Lisa. This class focuses on breath work united with classical yoga postures led in a slow meditative manner based in the Kripalu/Pranakriya Yoga tradition. Yoga (even less vigorous styles) can aid weight control efforts by reducing the cortisol levels as well as by burning excess calories and reducing stress. Yoga also encourages healthy eating habits and provides a heightened sense of well being and self esteem. Longer posture holds encourage the body to release tension, generate heat, and challenge the student to deepen his or her practice. Be prepared to strengthen and stretch with awareness and an openness to the possibilities!
Fee: $10 suggested donation/kids 18 and under $8/class card rates also available, no one turned away, give what your heart directs. Some give more, some less. BARTER opportunities as well!
About Lisa: For nearly a decade, Lisa has had a dedicated daily yoga practice including hot vinyasa, hot core power, Bikram, Pranakriya and Anusara. She received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in Pranakriya yoga, a direct lineage of Kripalu yoga, and also holds 100 hour certificates in Hot Core Power and Heated Vinyasa. She is taking courses towards her 500 hour yoga certification with an emphasis on yoga therapy. Lisa is trained in Radiant Child Kundalini and Grounded Kids yoga, and is a certified holistic nutritional consultant, recently graduating Cum Laude from Hawthorn University. She currently teaches at an innovative and spacious studio, Form Yoga, in downtown Decatur, as well as at churches, schools and her home studio. Lisa teaches all ages and levels, vinyasa style, gentle stretch, meditative Pranakriya classes, and anusara influenced classes.
