Join us for the very FIRST day of 2013!! Sunday at 3pm for a 60 minutes Pranakriya Family Yoga Class: Stretch, Strengthen, Meditate class taught by Lisa. We will embrace a gentle practice while offering some more physically challenging poses for those who prefer them. Welcome the calendar year of 2012 by connecting with family and friends for a relaxing donation based class for all ages and levels
Usual Fee: $10 suggested donation/class card rates also available, no one turned away, give what your heart directs. Some give more, some less. BARTER opportunities as well!
This class focuses on breath work united with classical yoga postures led in a meditative manner based in the Kripalu/Pranakriya Yoga tradition.
Yoga (even less vigorous styles) can aid weight control efforts by reducing the cortisol levels as well as by burning excess calories and reducing stress. Yoga also encourages healthy eating habits and provides a heightened sense of well being and self esteem. Longer posture holds encourage the body to release tension, generate heat, and challenge the student to deepen his or her practice. Be prepared to strengthen and stretch with awareness and an openness to the possibilities!
About Lisa: Since around 2003, Lisa has had a dedicated daily yoga practice including hot vinyasa, hot core power, Bikram, and Pranakriya. She received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in Pranakriya yoga, a direct lineage of Kripalu yoga, and also holds 100 hour certificates in Hot Core Power and Heated Vinyasa. She is taking courses towards her 500 hour yoga certification with an emphasis on yoga therapy. Lisa has a training in Radiant Child Kundalini and Grounded Kids yoga, and holds a degree as a certified holistic nutritional consultant. She currently teaches group and individual yoga classes around Decatur and the metro Atlanta area...she loves vinyasa style, gentle stretch, and meditative Pranakriya classes.
