Greetings to all the lovely yogis and yoginis who add so much to my life.  I just read an article early entitled:

It really resonated with me and reminded me of the power of a smile or an affirmation and how positively it effects both the giver and the recipient.  So don't wait...the next time you are so inclined and it is truly from your heart, let someone you know...or perhaps someone you do not know...that they are special in some way.  A simple smile as you walk past someone at the mall or a call to a friend or family member can mean so much.  That said, I am better because of YOU...without students to support yoga, I wouldn't be able to have a livelihood that is also nurturing and fun! 

With the holidays ahead, make sure to check out the calendar for any cancellations or venue changes.  If ever in doubt, please email me directly and/or call me.  The schedule and phone numbers are at the end of this email.

During the cold months it is VERY beneficial to slooow down a bit and relax with some more passive and restorative yoga poses. You will not only rest your mind and body, but you will actually recharge and your body will be more able to maintain or lose weight during the winter months. Less stress on the adrenals=less release of cortisol.  TOO much high intensity work outs and bootcamp type exercising can actually result in the body resisting and even gaining weight and losing muscle.  So take at least a day or so a week to have some "active rest" in a gentle stretch yoga class.

If you are finding yourself stressed out or sore from all those vigorous workouts, long runs, spinning classes, boot camp and other heart pumping exercise routines, give yourself some Ooooohhhh Ahhhh Yoga at the North Decatur United Methodist Church.  I teach a very beginner friendly/all levels Gentle Yoga Class every Tuesday evening at 6pm-7pm.    http://www.ndumc.org/

This is an all levels, all ages, all shapes and sizes friendly class and so far, the response has been awesome.  I have yogis from their 20s to their 80s all getting a little more peace and bliss together.  The cost is a mere $7 too!  Tell your friends. This is restorative as well as gentle yoga, and the church is conveniently located at the corner of North Decatur Road and Church Street, a block from DeKalb Medical Center and about 1 mile from the downtown Decatur Square. 

With the cooler weather, now my class every Saturday at 11am will be INSIDE The Self Discovery Center (http://selfdiscoverycenter.com/default.aspx) in Little Five Points, only 5 minutes from downtown Decatur.  This class is an Atlanta Yoga Club Class so drop in rate is a mere $7 or $5 if you are a member of the AYC.  Ask me for details. 

I also am still offering the best unlimited class card deal in town:
$75 for 1 person for 2 months or
$75 for 2 people for 1 month.

Class cards are applicable for all classes except for those at the Ember and Decatur Yoga studios.  Call or email for details.  Buy now BEFORE the holidays so you can cultivate a strong practice before the New Year gets here.  With 31 days in the next few months, you are getting nearly NINE weeks of classes...take 2 classes a week and your classes come to about $4 or so EACH!  Take more than 2 and the price is even lower.  Get a friend to join with you and just give yourself a month to set a habit that can help you inside and out.
