A cooperative is an organization operated by a group of individuals for their mutual benefit. With that said, Kids & Co. is an association of parents united voluntarily to meet our common goal of helping our children become the best they can be (physically, mentally, emotionally and academically).

Our “preschool playdates” aim to prepare our young children for life, and school. We hope that through the activities at our meetups (arts & crafts, dance classes, trips to the zoo/museums, playing at the park), we can help our children:

- build character
- get to know new friends
- develop independence and a sense of self
- an inner barometer of right and wrong
- develop a love of learning (without letting them know they actually are!)
- provide a safe environment where our children learn and explore
- set up some academic foundation and fostering emotional development

Essentially, if a child were a house, preschool is the foundation. It is below the surface, but still holding up the house. The preparation we need for life is play, fun, getting messy, splashing in puddles.... good preschool celebrates childhood, it doesn't kill it.

And we believe, all learning is not entirely done in a classroom setting, it can be anywhere and at anytime. We value the time and experience and stage of life and learning that each child is at. Learning is not a race to be won to see who gets there first. Learning is about acquiring satisfaction, meaning and skills and feeling good about ourselves. It is learning to interact and respect others, rather than intimidate, criticize harshly or judge others.

Ideally, we are looking for members with children aged 2 – 6 years old so that we can plan age-appropriate lesson plans and activities; however, we are open to all ages, because we love all kids big and small!
