Stetson University has invited us to attend their free lecture on Tolstoy, scheduled for November 23, 3009 at 6pm. For those who have read and enjoy Tolstoy, this event will be very interesting.
The lecture will be given by Inessa Medzhibovskaya of The New School (New York) on “Tolstoy: The Art of Terror and the Terror of Art,” on Monday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. in Room 122 of the Lynn Business Center, 345 N. Woodland Blvd. Medzhibovskaya teaches literature at the New School in New York.
A widely recognized specialist on Tolstoy, Medzhibovskaya recently published Tolstoy and the Religious Culture of his Time, which examines the Russian author's religious evolution. She has also written on Pushkin, on the Russian-Jewish philosopher Simon Frank, and on Soviet childhood.
