It’s official. The first ever Newcomers Cookout will happen on August 25th. As always, a good time is guaranteed and it shall all be going down on sites 77-80 (see map: http://www.riparks.com/pdfs/LincolnWoodsParkMap.pdf) of Lincoln Woods Park = winning.
What to bring
Good cookouts always have plenty of food, games and great people. I have made a few suggestions for what to get. If everyone can get at least two to three items, we should be in good shape. Please list what you plan on bringing so that we know what to plan for. In no particular order:
Stuff to grill – burgers, brats, chicken, bison. As long as it can be grilled, anything goes.
If you’re vegetarian, please let us know. We could set up a veggie grill for tofu, zucchini and veggies if necessary
Grilling supplies – lighter fluid, matches, charcoal, grilling tools. Spatulas etc.
Portable grills – If you own a portable grill or any cooking surface, please feel free to bring it along.
Sides – Dazzle everyone with your favorite side dishes. Potato salad, macaroni salad, regular salad. Surprise us !!!
Sundries – Paper Plates, Paper cups, condiments (ketchup, mustard), foil for grilling.
Hydration – Water, soda and the like are all good. The more, the better. Unfortunately, no alcoholic beverages are allowed. However, we could go out after. Ice, plenty of ice should be good.
Fun and games – Do you have any outdoor games? Bring them out as no cookout would be complete without them. Bocce, beanbags, kickball, badminton or anything else.
When you RSVP, please list what you will be bringing. If you’re already on the list, update the RSVP by your name to list what you’re bringing.
