Waikele Community Park meetup

We're returning to our central location for more pug fun & a potluck.

Reminders: This is a city and co. park, so officially, no animals are allowed, but I live in this neighborhood and we’ve been coming here for yrs without a problem, so I ask that you respect a few “rules” to help us maintain this location.

Restrooms & a water fountain are at the rec center. Bring water & bowl for your pets.

No dogs in heat or unsocialized ones. Dogs are off-leash here, but if any dogs, especially unneutered ones are aggressive or humping alot, they will be asked to be put on-leash.   We want everyone to be able to relax and not worry about any altercations.  It’s very rare, but it does happen.

No dog or human treats and no feeding them from your plate since some are allergic, on special diets or this may cause food aggression-we all know how pugs love to eat!

All food and personal items need to go onto tables since the boys pee on everything on the ground (including some people!). There is no place to sit and the grass is usually wet, so  bring your own chairs.

$1/person, including keiki will be collected, this fee goes toward our monthly meetup dues.

Potluck - let me know what you can bring when you rsvp-pupu, main dish, side dish, salad or dessert-please limit desserts, we usually have way too many and they are thrown out. Bring your own drinks.  Paper products, trash bags, utensils are provided.

Please let me know if you can bring a table.

See you then!

Aloha, Sarah  C[masked]

By the way, if anyone wants an occasional pug sitter in Waikiki, I'd be glad to help. I've taken care of a pug before and read PLENTY of books about them. Just putting that out there. :))

Hi Lea, Thanks for replying. I live in Waikele very close to where we have the meetup. So I don't think it would work. If I take Rascal to other peoples houses, he pees all over. But he doesn't pee in my house. And he can find his way around even though he can't see. So I hate to leave him, unless I know someone will be checking on him a couple times a day. My neighbor can feed him twice a day, but doesn't have time to spend with him. I don't want him to feel abandoned. Thanks anyway. See you next meetup.

Awh, I'm sorry :(( I just don't have a car so I couldn't get to Waikele enough. I'm sorry, I wish I could help! I can do weekend check-ups to keep him company and give him some love, though, if you'd still like that.

Had a great time as usual. Good people, great conversation, and such a great opportunity for our pugs to play.

Is there any way this can be switched to sunday? I work and saturdays and would like to attend at least half of the meet ups with my wife and pug. I know before, Pat use to alternate sat and sun. Thanks!

Hi Randall, Sarah and I have been learning as we go as we take over. So far we are thinking of rotating 2 Saturdays then a Sunday only because Sundays are very hard for me. So February will be a Sunday. Thank you, Cheryl

I am on the Mainland until February 1st. I wish Bella & Frankie didn't have to miss this meetup. Hopefully there will be another one in February. We PCS in June so we'd like to come to everyone between February and June. Lol

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
