Take a walk through beautiful Hawaii Kai with your best friends! Come and join the Hui'Ilio Hawaii fundraiser, bringing the community together to celebrate the human-animal bond.
Net proceeds from the Dog Walk help to support the Hawaii Kai Dog Park and also support Hui'Ilio Hawaii's mission, to promote safe and friendly places for dogs and their people to play, and to promote responsible dog ownership.
Hui'Ilio Hawaii helped to build the Hawaii Kai Dog Park through a public-private partnership and continues to support the park as "Adopt-a-Park" partners with the City.
When you come to the dog walk, please consider bringing a gift for a less-fortunate dog. The Dog Walk event will be collecting dry and canned dog food, bowls, towels, bedding, toys and more! Please visit www.hui-ilio.org for details.
The Walk: Our pug group will be participating in the .7 mile mini-route since our babies tend to get overheated quickly. It starts at makai end of the Park and Ride, where we will meet (just look for the pugs!), down Keahole Street, right onto Kalanianaole Hwy with an about-turn at Hawaii Kai Drive, returning to the Park and Ride.
The event will host photo sessions, exhibits and fun activities, as well as, doggie water stations.
Time: The walk begins at 7:30am, however, I put our meetup starting at 7:15am, so our members have time to find parking and find our group before the walk begins. I will probably be there no later than 7:00am.
Parking: Early arrivals can park in the Park and Ride parking lot. More parking is available for late arrivals at Maunalua Bay Beach parking lot on Kalanianaole Hwy.
Hope to see lots of our pug members there! Sarah, C[masked]-5470.
