The Honolulu Pug Meetup Group Message Board › N shore VLand beach day recap
There were 15 families that attending our Sunday outing and it was a perfect day!
We got there early when there was very little wind and the tide pool was low and calm for pug swimming.
Soon, pugs & their people descended on our "secret" spot at a huge shady park and beach that we had all to ourselves. There were a lot of feisty puppies at play, which is so refreshing to see, esp. since our Nick & Abby are older now. Those that may be reluctant at first to let their pugs off-leash, soon learn that there's so much going on, they won't go anywhere but with the crazy pack. We love the variety of "water taxis" (Ray brought his huge zodiac this time, I think Nick & Abby enjoyed it the most, thanks, Ray!) & life preservers.
We welcomed back old-timers Micah, Ashley, pug Roofus & fluff-ball Pauly; Cheryl & Pat with Tobi & Magi; Ariana, Ray with goofy Henri (who was obsessed with big-headed Lazlo) & pretty (and sometimes bitchy) Betty; Sarah, Steve with Tasi & Max (who experienced an anal gland expression thanks to Ray); Rick, Giles & Charles with Mars & Dite; Katie (who had an awesome pug pirate towel) & Izzy; Vicki & John with exuberant Lazlo & mellow Misaki; Kara, James, Brennan, Kelsey with Ziggy; Katelyn & Tyler with Beavus and Shae & Kelvin with Sachi.
Our new beach attendees were Aimee & Matt with Zuna; Madeline & Randall with Booger; Julie, Sheila & Billy with Guiness; Kristina with Ollie and Delphine & Dana with Matai.
We had mostly cloudy skies which was great since it wasn't too hot, then when the wind picked up and the tide started to rise, most of us hung out for more pug fun under the shady trees to talk story.
We'll be back at Waikele Community Park: Sat 17 Aug 9:30am.
Save the date for our Waimanalo beachfront home & fish pond outing: Sunday 8 Sept 9:30am.
Beach dates & times are chosen according to tides and jellyfish schedules. We try to fluctuate Sat & Sunday activities to accommodate most.
See you next month!
Aloha, Pat & Bill
