Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon at Del Mar Dog Beach

  • Del Mar Dog Beach

Celebrate the end of summer by watching some serious dog surfing.  These pups love to hang 20 and this way they are helping homeless animals too.

Del Mar dog beach is once again open to dogs off leash.  Come out watch these surfers, check out the sights and have fun playing on the beach.

Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon is a fun event that raises funds for orphaned animals at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Owners and their pets will participate in 20 minute heats based on the dogs weight class. They will be judged on their ability to ride the waves, having fun and staying on their boards. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each weight class and the first place winner will move on to the finals.  The dog surfing contest takes place at Del Mar Dog Beach.

Don't forget the sunblock, the potty bags and some water for the pups. They often have vendors and raffles so bring some $ too if you want.

Hi my in-laws had to put their Female Boston Terrier down last month after sustaining play injuries to her spine and nerves which prevented her from eating and not being able to move around independently (Mickey was to the point where the Dr's couldn't rescue or help her as the damage was so bad she was suffering!). We are currently looking to adopt a female pug as our Albino 10yr old Boxer is lonely and has been crying often for his missing companion. We live in the Bonita area and my in-laws would like to find a female Pug between the ages of a puppy all the way up to 6 years old as long as the dog is: potty trained, house broken, good with kids, good temperament with other people, and playful with other dogs (I have three awesome pugs and all the dogs love each other including my in-laws 10yr Old Ablino Boxer Achillies). Anyone who may know or have any leads, please contact me ASAP at:[masked] or email [masked], ask for Roo, thank you! God Bless!
