Have you signed the petition to protect Michigan Wolves? If not, plan on coming over anytime between 4-10 p.m.
If you haven’t heard, the Michigan legislature just passed a law to allow a wolf hunt for sport in Michigan for the first time in nearly 50 years. There are fewer than 700 wolves in Michigan and their numbers are only now starting to recover. It’s not right to spend decades bringing the wolf back from the brink of extinction only to turn around and allow them to be killed for sport.
Keep Michigan Wolves Protected is seeking to collect more than 225,000 signatures of Michigan voters to place a referendum on the ballot. If successful, a proposal will appear on the Michigan statewide ballot in 2014 that would allow voters to choose whether or not to enact the legislature’s wolf hunting law. Learn more.
You can’t sign online! Nope, this is the old fashion ballot type petition that you have to sign in person. Registered voters only!
This event is being combined with our monthly potluck party. Members of Puppy Mill Awareness will have some vegan dishes for you to sample. If you would like to participate in the potluck, make sure your dish does not contain any animal product (meat, dairy, honey, whey, casein..).
Non-member RSVPs are not required, but it would be good to know who many to expect if you plan on eating with us. If you are a member please RSVP with the number of guests you intend to bring with you.
Around 7 p.m. we will be watching a movie: Forks Over Knives.
