Plymouth Ice Show (Leafleting)

This will be our sixth ice dog! We have been participating in the Plymouth Ice show since 2009 and we keep coming back for many reasons. First over 100,000 people from the metro area walk through Kellogg Park and many of them shop in nearby Novi and Westland– home to three puppy stores. This is a great educational opportunity to pass out our flyers and http://www.plymouthicefestival.org

We are looking for volunteers to leaflet next to our dog sculpture. If you are interested please sign up for a 2 hour shift. We only need 2 volunteers during each shift for the dog, however we will also be collecting signatures to Keep Michigan Wolves Protected--so the more volunteers we have the better!

Just RSVP the shift(s) you would like to cover (use the comments field):

Hi everyone. It started raining last night around 7 pm and was still raining when we left at 10 pm. I am not sure our ice dog made it. I stayed in Livionia and will be heading back to the park in about 30 mins. I don't have access to the internet while there, so if you want to call before you leave or call me after 9 am, I can give you an update on our event plans. [masked]-7100. If the dog has melted, all the other sculptures melted too, but I think they normally make more of them on Sat so I am guessing the Festival will still be going on. If we don't have a dog, We can still leaflet or collect wolf petition signatures. So I don't think I will cancel today. Pam

With the weather forecast including a 70% chance of rain on Saturday, I think our best option (to maximize leafleting time) would be to participate on Friday too. We may have to cancel shifts on Saturday and if our dog melts, Sunday will be cancelled. This is very disappointing, but weather reports have been wrong before. Let’s play it safe and hang out with our dog on Friday. Who is in?

Pam I think I accidentally texted your landline? Are you officially canceling the leafletting for Saturday and Sunday? Even though the dog may melt, do you have a tent? If not, can any additional volunteers please help with the wolf petitioning because they do have a tent.

Hi Everyone, I won’t know where our Ice Dog is until Friday or even Sat morning when I arrive. So you may need to call me for our location. I updated our Saturday Ice Fest shifts. Let me know if your plans have changed or you would like a different shift. Feel free to call me anytime this weekend if you have a question about the event. Pam[masked]-7100.

One more thing I can only be at the leafletting from 1-2 and then must be at the petitioning table from 2-4 the entire time.
