Meetup members are encouraged to join the Michigan’s Political Action Committee for Animals (Mi-PACA). Voting blocs! You can learn more about this group at this Meetup which is open to everyone and has been strategically scheduled in Mt. Clemens as part of our Pollywood Pets Boycott Campaign.
Mi-PACA is made up entirely of volunteers who organize voters by area based on their love for animals and the need to protect them. Each county in Michigan is assigned a county captain, and each municipality within the county is assigned city or township coordinators. These volunteers keep their fingers on the pulse of emerging issues in their respective areas that may affect companion animals, farm animals and wildlife.
Mi-PACA then acts by contacting elected officials, speaking at public meetings and dealing directly with elected representatives to ensure that emerging issues are decided in the animals' best interests. Because our
power is in our numbers, PAC members network to recruit additional PAC members.
We will want to organize local Mt. Clemens residents to help support our Mt. Clemens ordinance proposal which would ban the retail sale of animals and any other animal issues that come up in the Mt. Clemens –i.e. The BSL ordinance will expire soon. Lets hope the city does not reinstate the ordinance.
