Chien d'Or Kennel Hearing (Farmington Hills)

Puppy Mill Awareness of Southeast Michigan has been investigating Chien d'Or and Gabriels Ark Kennel.  We are most concerned that Ms. Gabriel is hoarding animals (dogs and birds) and operating a kennel with too many dogs. Last August, (57) adult golden retrievers were found on the property, some living in small wire cages in the basement and others overcrowded in an outdoor kennel. Public records show there has been at least (14) complaints and (7) failed inspections since 2008.  Ms. Gabriel is a chronic offender with repeat violations to Regulation 129 governing dog kennels. The deplorable conditions of the  kennels have directly impacted the dog’s health violating state animal cruelty laws, yet no charges have been filed.

Ms. Gabriel will be facing Judge Brady for violating the local zoning ordinance that does not permit kennels in the basement or inside the home.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP and then confirm Thursday morning as all prior dates have been rescheduled. There is a possibility that is formal hearing will be adjourned again.

Judy - There is a very nice looking senior golden retriever at the Osceola County Animal Control in Reed City. He is an unneutered male who was turned in because he started marking in the house after they brought in an unneutered male shepherd and an intact female. So instead of fixing them, they turned in the dog they had owned since it was a pup. you can check it out at www.animal-control.org or on their facebook page.
