We are gearing up efforts in Macomb County again. Yesterday we held our pilot protest at Utica Pet Supply to send a message – we will begin protests!
In fact, we are planning a formal campaign which would mean sustained protests with all the additional public education tactics we have mustered up.
We have sent two letters with no response from the store. Read letters.
Pilot protests are usually very small to see how the store will respond and to get the police visit out of the way before we invite more members to join. If you would like to participate in our next protest at Utica - keep checking the calendar, the Round A Bouts will be posted soon.
3/15/10 Sent a formal invitation to stop selling puppies and take the Puppy Friendly Pet Store pledge through the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) initiative in person to John Goeth. The store did not respond.
3/27/10 Followed-up with John via a phone call. The store state they do not plan to stop selling puppies.
1/31/12 Resent the formal invitation and pledge form. The store did not respond.
2/14/12 Stopped by store to discuss the invitation and pledge form. The store ask me to leave.
2/27/12 Sent a list of our expectations, along with an offer to support them during the business transition to adoption events only
3/7/12 Held a pilot protest.
