Please forward to your contacts. This is something anyone can do – just smile and wave!
Just like other lobbying groups, we plan to make sure lawmakers know we are determined to strengthen laws for dogs by showing up in person - no appointments necessary.
Representative Eileen Kowall (District 44-White Lake) will be introducing our group (Puppy Mill Awareness of SE Michigan) and the local area shelters to the Chairman of the House of Representatives and other representatives in Lansing on June 13th between 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.!
Plan to sport your anti-puppy mill flare (t-shirts/buttons) and stand on the balcony overlooking the session. We will have a gorgeous view.
We will be reminding lawmakers that we want to see the Puppy Protection Act passed - at minimum a hearing before the summer break! We are also lobbying for the Pet Lemon Law (but that is on the Senate side right now). Here is a link to our new legislative page.
If you have not met with your representative or senator one-on-one, this may be a good time to set up an appointment. You can download Fact Sheets from our website.
If you can’t make it, you can still watch on The House TV, but I certainly hope as many of you can join us and give dogs a voice in Lansing!
