Watch out bad breeders and puppy stores, Puppy Mill
Awareness has recruited some of the top puppy protectors
in the state!

Call them puppy huggers if you like, but there is no denying
they are determined to end mass puppy farming and protect
families. These locals have a cause worth fighting for.

Each year, we recognize our awesomely devoted Meetup
Members for committing time to protests and events. Over
the last year we have held 100 protests and attended/held
18 events. That is a lot of time spent protecting puppies so
it is time to put our paws together for the following top
Meetup Members with impressive attendance:

Let me tell you a little more about these fine folks:

Our ” Winter Warriors” also made Year 4’s top three
members: Alicia, Sunday, and Olivia. Alicia holds down
the fort in Flint at the Family Puppy protests. Olivia is
always there in Macomb County which has too many
puppy stores! Sunday is always covering the Westland
and Novi protests. These ladies are in it to win it!

Alicia....

Sunday...

Olivia...

Barbara was the Westland heroine. She isn’t going to
let any puppy stores near her get away with puppy
peddling in her town! There were many times I captured
her standing proudly among hostile counter protesters
and even under a sprinkler. Here are my favorite photos
of Barbara:

Cathy attended over half of our other events this year
-often tabling all day long covering multiple shifts. We
added her Minie (our mascot) to the list too since she
knows how to attract visitors. I love giving Cathy new
display items to assemble just to see if she will ever
say no to anything?? Here are my favorite photos of
Cathy and Minie:

Pam W is one of our many veteran protesters. She won’t
be deterred by photo snatching puppy store owners or
bullying supporters. She ensures all protests in Macomb
are covered and keep going. Here are my favorite photos
of Pam:

Nicole is certainly a fear‘less’ dog advocate! I remembered
when she showed up to her first protest at Petland wearing
office attire – offering no excuses for not protesting! She
will attend in any kind of weather and won’t be deterred
by puppy store intimidations. In fact, don’t tango with her
on Facebook – she will win! Here are my favorite photos
of Nicole:

Members who have attended over 20 events in the last
year are invited to a special Fall Feast Appreciation Dinner
at Puppy Mill Headquarters hosted by a local vegan dinner club.

T H A N K  Y O U to all the members who stayed involved and
connected helping to spread the word this past year!

Please join us for our Year 4 Anniversary Celebration – Potluck Picnic
in Royal Oak this weekend (Sat 8/25 at 6 pm – Jaycee Park on
13 mi at Crooks)
